List of the Top 10 News Apps for Smartphones and Tablets

For people on the move, smartphone and tablet news apps play a vital role in their lifestyle, enabling them to stay up to date anytime, anywhere. Like other apps, not everyone is created equal. There are regular apps, but there are also apps with great features. To help you choose the type of news apps for your mobile phone, here’s a list of the top 10 news apps you may have.

Yahoo News Digest

Yahoo News Digest is currently available in the US and UK. It provides the necessary information about news collected from different sources for text, images and information created by algorithms.

News360

What’s good about this app is being able to get the news you like. It is designed to understand the interest of users and thus to attract and add other regular information from a wide range of mainstream news and other specialized sources that you may be interested in. Videos and images are also included in the sample.

Inside.com – Breaking News

This app offers people a short 300-character story with a summary of the original source. With an easy-to-use thumb-to-all system up and down, it lets you customize your app to focus on a person’s preferences and provide the user with what they want.

Paper – Facebook Stories

This particular application is constantly evolving over a short period of time. At the time of writing, the Facebook News app could be used on the iPhone in the United States, but will soon be available to Android and other users around the world. It collects general news, focusing on topics you like, not random messages. Most stories fall into different categories, such as technology, health, culture and others.

Feedly Reader

It’s an advanced and easy-to-use RSS reader designed with fast-sharing features and the ability to add articles using a “read later” service such as Pocket and Instapaper. Feedly Reader has one of the most effective search options. It also provides continuous improvements and upgrades to the system depending on the user’s participation.

Newsbeat

Newsbeat was developed by the American media company Tribune. This allows users to choose their favorite news sources. These sources then take stories daily, summing up and being used to create personalized news podcasts using text-to-voice technology. Weather and traffic reports are also included only for the U.S. market.

About News

Behind this application is a team of knowledgeable editors who carefully and painstakingly select relevant information and put aside what they consider “unnecessary” or irrelevant facts. One of the best features of this app is the ability to “follow” certain stories. Users are notified every time a story is added to the summary. Another great feature is that readers can read offline, so you can still check for updates, even if the Wi-Fi connection isn’t available.

Flipboard is one of the most popular news apps. And with the recent acquisition of zite, which was formerly owned by CNN, it has made it even more powerful. This is to make Flipboard a personal log for mobile users. In addition, Flipboard has added another feature that allows users to view updates on their social channels and RSS feeds. This app works well with traditional news providers and then reformatts articles.

Interesting for an iPhone

This app extracts thousands of articles from the list of the best sources of content on the Internet. It allows users to view their favorite topics, from news to technology, politics, sports, design, entertainment and more. It has the ability to organize stories and break them into categories such as sports, technology and politics. What’s even more interesting about this app is integration with Reddit, which is a great source of updates for an increasing number of people. It is also integrated with Dribble, which is a good site for designers.

Newsy: Video news

This app collects news and then turns them into video news. Looks like it’s good for Google, YouTube, Facebook and another major web player. But so far this app works very well and has its place on the Internet.

This list of news apps is my own compilation and can be useful for one, but not the other. Everyone has their cool and useful features, and all of these apps are free. You can easily download any of the news apps listed above on your own. And if you’re not happy with this app, you can always move on to the next one on the list.
