During this recent trip, I went to Park City in July for a long weekend (Thursday – Sunday) mini vacation and packed my days to discover the best and most unique things you can do when the weather gets warmer. I have to take my friend Jacob on his first trip to Utah and play a weekend Park City Lodging guide. To my surprise, summer in Park City is full of music, tons of outdoor activities, world-class food and drinks and a vibrant landscape. While some cities in the ski areas could close the season, Park City is pushing forward and easily adapting to the opposite climate.
The path starts at Willow Creek Park and continues along McLeod Creek until it finally hits the road. Recognized for its luxurious amenities and atmosphere, the charming Deer Valley is regularly one of the best ski resorts in the United States. In addition to an amazing number of ski slopes, it also has luxury cabins, restaurants and boutiques to enjoy. While most people come to ski or snowboard, Canyons Village also has beautiful hiking or mountain biking trails in the summer months. In addition, it also has numerous huts and apartments to stay, with restaurants, shops and nightlife.
Half-day and full-day excursions are available, as well as an introduction to the fly fishing lesson in Utah. Park City was a great getaway for us, and unless you really like skiing I’d say a long three-day weekend is the perfect amount of time to take in everything. With just 35 minutes from Salt Lake City Airport and almost no traffic at any time of the day, Park City is an easy journey from almost anywhere if you want to get away from it all. But we couldn’t rest all day and when we finally got moving, we went looking for a local walking path. We go to the McLeod Creek Trail, a beautiful and easy ride or by bike in the middle of the city.
Fishermen and tourists follow the Weber River all year round in search of scenic landscapes and large trout swimming along the river. You can also enjoy a variety of activities in the National Forest or Weber Cottonwood recreation area. Park Silly Sunday Market takes Main Street Every weekend, Main Street turns into a show for food, art, craft, performance and costumes. Every Sunday from 10am you will find the best art, music, food and local items nearby. Some of the most popular attractions on the market are a great lobster bun, with lobster flying from the east coast and some bloody marias of the world.
Park City is known for its mountains and there are more ways to experience the beauty of the Wasatch Range! Mountains are interwoven with trails that can be explored by hiking in the warmer months and snow in winter and spring. Many offer S’mores packages and bonfires throughout the hotel to roast them. Cooking the perfect s’more is truly an art and roasting it is a fun time for everyone while everyone laughs and tells stories about the open fire. Waldorf Astoria, Montage Deer Valley and St. Regis Deer Valley are just some of the hotels that offer S’mores. What attracts so many visitors to Park City, in addition to the busy ski season, is the ease with which you can visit.
There are also food stalls if you want to buy food or drinks on the spot, or if you forget to pack a picnic blanket or sweater. Basically, all your bases are somehow covered, which is a relief in case you can’t put your extended picnic in your hand luggage. What makes this concert series so unique is that it is held in an amphitheater at the foot of the mountains. So you are casually surrounded by beautiful landscapes and ski lifts while enjoying music, making it a truly unique experience. Three days can easily include art galleries, spa time, boutique navigation, food and live entertainment.
